House System

There are four houses within the school reflecting the Catholic ethos and are based on well known places in the Holy Land.  These are Bethlehem, Galilee, Nazareth and Jerusalem. Siblings are in the same house.

Points can be gained in a number of ways:
In class (individual):

  • One point for every green on the Target Sheet;
  • One point for Star Writers
  • One point for Star of the Week
  • Points for exceptional work/effort
  • Points for excellent behaviour/manners
  • Individual effort in competitions
  • In Class (whole house)

Target sheets returned and signed on the correct day (one point per child for their house)
All children in house with full P.E. kit/correct shoes for dram, etc. (one point per child for their house)
All staff members can also award house points out with the classroom for example:-

Travelling from class to other parts of the building in silence and good behaviour


Acts of Citizenship

Recording
Each class has a laminated sheet with a box for each house on which to record points.
Points are collected in the Assembly Folder on a weekly basis (every Friday morning).

The winning house is announced at the weekly Achievements Assembly (Friday afternoon) and the
monthly overall winning house is given an extra playtime and a ‘treat’.
