Eco Flag
In June 2006 the school was awarded its first GREEN FLAG for being an ECO School.
In April 2009 the school was awarded its second GREEN FLAG.
The ECO Schools Committee of Primary 6 & 7 representatives worked very hard to achieve the green flag standard.
The main targets were to develop the following:
- To be litter free
- To recylce as much as possible
- To have healthy and Safe lifestyles
- To cycle or walk to school
- To sustain our world
They also created an ECO code which the whole school had to learn:-
- To keep St. Blane's a litter free school.
- Don't drop litter, that's the rule.
- To make a better environment is our plan
- So we should recycle as much as we can.
- To be fit, healthy, happy and safe
- Eat well, exercise and remember to behave.
- Now the new committee are maintaining the standards already achieved and are working on the next focus areas which will be decided very soon.
