Assemblies

There are two assemblies each week, one on a Wednesday morning, which is a religious assembly from 9.00 am – 9.30 am and the other on a Friday from 2.00 pm – 2.30 pm which in an achievement assembly.
The children sit in classes.

In the achievement assembly one child from each class is chosen by their teacher to be 'The Star of the Week'.  This could be for showing a marked improvement in work/behaviour, for displaying good manners, for always working conscientiously, demonstrating acts of citizenship, etc.  They are awarded with a certificate and a 'Star of the Week' sticker.

'The Stars of the Week' from each house are counted and the house with the most 'Stars' earn five points for their house. (These points are carried forward to the next week). Children who celebrate a birthday in that week will have been given a birthday sticker in the morning (when the Assembly book is circulated to  the classrooms).  These children are invited to stand up and "Happy Birthday" is sung to them.

There are also 'Special' stickers awarded to children for achievements. (eg. swimming certificates, trophy for a  placing in dancing, etc.) At the end of assembly, each staff member selects one class which they feel have behaved best and that class is awarded a point.  The class with the most points (after all staff have selected) earn the title of "Best Class".  When a class has gained "Best Class" three times they are given an extra playtime.
